Even now, after Valkryie flopped and Tom Cruise hasn't had a legitimate hit in years, the man's still got his pick of the litter for his next project. According to Variety, studios have been falling over themselves trying to land Cruise, spending millions in rewrite fees to tailor their scripts to suit him.

Nikki Finke is reporting that Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night director David Slade is being eyed as a possible choice to direct Eclipse, the third in Summit Entertainment's Twilight Saga.

Is Simon West Casting Jason Stathem For Charles Bronson Remake?
Looks like Jason Statham has all but taken the crown as the leading action man. He has his own franchises (The Transporter, Crank) and has already made his mark on remaking some classic pictures as well (Death Race, The Italian Job). Now he’s looking at remaking a classic Charles Bronson picture, with the aid of Con-Air director Simon West.

Kellogs Is Creating A Star Trek Cereal, Oh Boys
The breakfast giant Kellogs is teaming up with J.J. Abrhams Star Trek to create a limited edition cereal complete with high corn fructose syrup for all of you Trekkie geeks out there. I am more than sure lots of people will actually buy all of the boxes as collectors items and never even open them.

Zack Snyder Trades Down Two For Sucker Punch!
No offense to Jena Malone and Jamie Chung, but when you're replacing Evan Rachel Wood and Superbad's Emma Stone respectively, it's a pretty clear step down in terms of name recognition. Like it or not though, Watchmen director Zack Snyder's all-female action fantasy Sucker Punch! was forced to move on when Wood and Stone had to drop out of the project thanks to scheduling conflicts.

Fox Finally Realizing Audiences Will Go To Movies Year-Round
We've all been there - you want to see a movie, but there's just nothing out. That's because studios have historically treated January to March as a dead zone, preferring to release their bigger pictures in the more traditional summer months or holiday weekends. But with key summer release dates getting more crowded than ever, otherwise appealing movies are just getting lost in the shuffle. And with the massive success of Paul Blart, Taken, and Fast and Furious (among others) proving that audiences don't just go into hibernation after January 1st, some studios out there are starting to take note.

Break Out The Gloves: Christian Bale Joins David O. Russell's Fighter
It's a match made in heaven: owners of the two most famous on-set rants in recent history, Christian Bale and David O. Russell, will be joining forces for The Fighter. I guess Russell heard Bale's Terminator meltdown and thought "I like this guy's style"... Or at least that he'd make for a more worthy adversary than Lily Tomlin.

Columbia Moves Quickly On Third Da Vinci Code Movie
