After mentioning names such as John Krasinski, Mike Vogel and Wilson Bethel for the leading superhero Captain America for the upcoming Joe Johnston's The First Avenger: Captain America, some other interesting names has been rumored to be ready to audition for the part. Channing Tatum has been also added to join Ryan Phillipe and Chris Evans to try for the part.Probably the only actor that might really work is Tatum, since he is hot in the market and is familiar to the audiences as well as having the physicality to play the part.

Scorsese in Talks to Cast Kingsley and Baron Cohen

Martin Scorsese is in negotiations to cast Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley in his next movie The Invention of Hugo Cabret which is based on Brian Selznick's book that tells the story set in 1930s Paris, about an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station and a mystery involving his late father and a robot. John Logan is writing the script and Graham King is producing the movie through his GK Films.Scorsese's previous work Shutter Island is in theaters now and doing very good at box office. Alice in Wonderland Leaves Everyone in the Dust at the Box Office

Stunning performance at box office this weekend by Alice in Wonderland. An estimated $116.3 million opening leaves other competitions in the dust.Also an opening for Brooklyn's Finest with $13.5 that only take it to the second place. Shutter Island traded its first spot from last weekend with the third place this weekend with another $13.3 million and a total of $96 million. Cop Out settled for the fourth place with $9 million. Avatar made another $7.7 and this bring the total domestically to $720 million and $2.6 billion worldwide.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has come to a conclusion for the proper punishment for the misconduct by The Hurt Locker producer, Nicolas Chartier that sent <a href='http://www.filmsnmovies.com/post/1022/the_hurt_locker_is_in_hot_water/' target=_blank>an emails asking for the support and votes for his movie in the upcoming Oscar night</a>.He is grounded! Apparently all they could come up with is to ban him from this Sunday's ceremony. Personally I think it is stupid and childish not to let him attend the ceremony/I am not really familiar with the relationships and politics behind closed doors at Hollywood but it seems misconduct and against the rule campaigns to boost a movie for the Oscar is a common practice in the industry. Of course if you are a veteran producer you know your way around and simply don't get caught in these situations. Unfortunately for Chartier he wasn't careful enough not to get caught and now he has to miss on probably the most important night of his life.Does it mean we should declare Avatar and James Cameron as the big winners of this year? I hope not!

The Hurt Locker co-producer Nicolas Chartier sent an email to his colleagues to support his movie over one specific movie he called the $500M movie for the best picture of the year.Apparently he wasn't aware of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences campaign rules and although The academy has not yet issued a statement about how they are going to deal with his violation, he is going to be punished for such wrong conducts.This is what he wrote in his email: I hope all is well with you. Shutter Island managed to settle on the top of the box office this weekend and made $40.2 million on its opening. Valentine's Day with $17.2 million was the runner up and total of $87.4 in two weeks. Avatar with $16 million switches places with Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief which made $15.3 million and move to the third place.In its second week The Wolfman cashed in $9.8 million and brought the total to $50 million and stayed in the fifth spot.

If you remember around mid august we reported that Vin Diesel has given an update on his facbook page regarding a sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick stating that negotiation is on with studio.He mentioned that negotiation is about rating and David Twohy will soon have a script. Apparently both Twohy and Diesel are interested in an R-rated sequel. Valentine's Day is at the top of the box office with $52.4 million and it is no surprise since it was actually Valentine's day and guys wanted or not has been dragged to watch it with their loved ones! Personally I think if it was on any other day than Valentine's day it would do better.
