New Trailer for Looper. It is a time travel movie, set in a near future where time travel doesn’t exist but will be invented in a few decades. It’s pretty dark in tone, much different from Bloom, and involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is to simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn’t technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there. Ridley Scott's Prometheus: An Epic in the Making

Slowly but surely, Ridley Scotts upcoming sci-fi epic Prometheus is becoming one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer of 2012. This is saying something, as most expect the upcoming summer movie headlines to be stolen primarily by films like The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. However, largely due to rumors that Prometheus will function essentially as a prequel to the “Alien” franchise, fans of the genre, and movie fans in general, are getting pretty excited for this dark horse project. This is even more interesting when you consider that very little actual information about the movie has been released. Of course, for a bit of a clue, you may want to look into <a href="http://www.satellitetvfamily.com/direct-tv-packages.html">Satellite deals</a> and see if you can find a place to watch the original Alien franchise, as the two are said to be connected. However, for specific details it seems like we may all have to wait. Here’s a bit on what we know so far. To begin with, the title, “Prometheus,” certainly raises some eyebrows, as this is a name that is very closely linked with ancient Greek mythology. From a mythological standpoint, Prometheus was the name of a Titan who was responsible for stealing fire from Zeus and bringing it (and, in some versions of the story, bringing life as we know it) to mortals. Prometheus was then punished for eternity by Zeus, but is known for having played a role in the early development of the human race. And, while this character will not actually be present in Scott’s film (at least, as far as we know), this story seems to be central to the plot of the upcoming film. Though, interestingly enough, it appears that in the film, “Prometheus” will actually be the name of a spaceship that serves as a vessel for the main characters. From all accounts, it seems that Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” will deal with the origins of the human race from a modern and futuristic perspective. That is, rather than making a movie set back in time, and actually showing the origins, Scott seems to be going for a group of modern explorers discovering vital clues to who we are and where we came from. Apparently, these clues involve alien DNA that leads the explorers to take off – on the Prometheus – in order to find whoever left the DNA behind, and learn what they can from their discoveries. While this is about all we know in terms of details, it seems that we certainly have a deep and epic journey to look forward to next summer.

In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
