Set in Woodstock, the summer of 1969, a frustrated, beautiful young Brooklyn housewife, Pearl Kantrowitz, spends her summer in the Catskills. Her world is turned around when she has an affair with a free-wheeling traveling salesman, Walker Jerome--a charming and quietly seductive hippie. Pearl cannot help herself even as she begins to realize the consequences of her intense attraction. Pearl is having the time of her life--and she is finally becoming the person she always wanted to be.
