Behold Megan Fox: official savior of the otherwise boring news day. According to the Risky Business blog over at The Hollywood Reporter, the Transformers star has signed on for the lead in the Screen Gems border thriller The Crossing.
Centering on a couple who get carjacked on their way back from a Mexican vacation, Megan will play the wife of a man who gets kidnapped. In order to get him back, Fox's character is forced to smuggle heroine across the border. Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper said the part "requires a vulnerability to make you care about her but a kind of strength to make you believe she can pull off the things she needs to. And Megan has both a vulnerability about her and an unbelievable strength."
Not to mention the kind of drop-dead gorgeous looks that (hopefully) put asses in seats... Fox's true star power will be put to the test in the coming months when she debuts the horror comedy Jennifer's Body, stars in the comic book adaptations Jonah Hex and Fathom, and appears alongside Mickey Rourke in the indie drama Passion Plays.
