Swine Flu Cancels Mexican Wolverine Premiere
Apparently even Wolverine isn't immune to the swine flu... 20th Century Fox has announced that it will be postponing X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Wednesday premiere in Mexico City in the wake of the outbreak. To combat the spreading of the flu, movie theaters across the country have been closed until further notice along with schools and other public places. That means the premiere, and Hugh Jackman's appearance, have been shut down as well. Says a studio rep, "We were not only concerned about Hugh's welfare – and we would never send anyone into harm's way – but we also have an enormous office filled with people we care about. There was no point in proceeding under the current conditions.... There is a possibility [the premiere] could be rescheduled." A new Mexican launch date for the film will be announced once the studio has a better idea of when the theaters will reopen. Until then, thank goodness for that bootleg huh?
