With a Predator reboot officially on the way from Robert Rodriguez, it sounds like Fox may be eying one for the movie monster's most recent sparring partner as well. According to IESB, co-chair Tom Rothman confirmed talk of an Alien prequel/reboot at Wolverine's Arizona premiere.
Rothman told the site, "There's been some talk. Ridley Scott, Ridley is right now working on Robin Hood, but I think he's toying with the idea and that would be great for us. I mean, it's always been a matter of, really, if you can get the originator to do it that would be the greatest thing, so I've got my fingers crossed, all of them."
Both James Cameron and Sigourney Weaver noticeably soured on the idea of a sequel to the popular sci-fi franchise after Fox first merged it with its Predator series in 2004. But with the studio now eying a prequel to the iconic 1979 film instead, no Sigourney is no longer a problem. Of course, keeping Scott involved to some extent will go a long way towards easing fans' fears about a new Alien movie - but hell, after Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, there's really nowhere to go but up.
