Star Trek Launch Called Off In Mexico
After the swine flu outbreak in Mexico forced Fox to postpone their Wolverine release earlier this week, now Paramount has done the same with Star Trek, set to release May 8th. With theaters closed in Mexico City and many others shutting down elsewhere, both Fox and Paramount have decided to push back their releases until the situation improves. And with the May 15th release of Angels & Demons also on the horizon, Sony is considering following suit. The hope is that most theaters will have reopened by then - not because it would mean the outbreak will have been successfully contained, but because Fox'll be damned if they have to push back Night at the Museum 2 too! So far, the studios don't believe the flu will effect moviegoing in other countries, namely the US and Canada. Whew, well that's a relief...
