Finally after much speculation around casting for Thor, the next project of Marvel studio and Kenneth Branagh, Aussie Chris Hemsworth who can be seen right now as George Kirk of Star Trek is chosen as Hammer thrower Thor.
According to Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood Daily blog, Kenneth Branagh made the final decision after seeing Chris on tape. Chris had read for the part of Thor but wasn't given a test because a casting director had denied him but he was given a second chance and read for the part again and when they put him on the tape it was the perfect match for the part and eventually Branagh came to town last week and saw the Chris test and made the final casting decision today. The movie is set to be released on May 20, 2011.
