Robin Hood Turned on Its Head
Universal Pictures acquired the rights to Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris's original script "Nottingham" in an aggressive bidding contest with other studios such as New Line Cinema, Warner Bros., Sony, New Regency Enterprises, and DreamWorks. original script turned the traditional story on its head by portraying the Sheriff of Nottingham in a more sympathetic light and Robin Hood as more of a villain. Ridley Scott is directing Russell Crowe as the thief of Nothingham and at 45 he is the oldest actor to play the role of Robin Hood up to this date and due to criticism of his age he crash dieted before filming began.
