James L. Brooks has not picked a name for his romantic comedy at Columbia Pictures, but he picked Jack Nicholson to join Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson in a Story involves a love triangle, with Rudd playing a white-collar executive vying for Witherspoon's affections, and Wilson portraying a professional baseball pitcher who is also a love interest. Nicholson is portraying Rudd's father. Nicholson previously worked with Brooks and earned 2 of his 3 Oscars through Brooks movies Terms of Endearment (1983) and As Good as It Gets (1997).
