You can call Wes Craven as a Master of Horror, he is the director behind A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream movies, and The Hills Have Eyes Part I and II. According to DigitalSpy he has been in talks with The Weinstein Company to work on Scream 4, So far he only agreed on reading the scrip and giving some tips.
According to Craven it is not only Scream 4 and it might be a trilogy after all. So far David Arquette and Courteney Cox are confirmed to be part of the film but no words on Neve Campbell as of yet.
On the question "Is there a danger that it'll either lose its edge or fall into self-parody the more films you make? He said "There are a host of dangers in making more films. We have a saying in the United States, 'Jump the shark'. You don't want to do that, you don't want to drive it into the ground. You're avoiding those kind of dangers, hopefully, making the kind of film that has self-awareness from the characters where they're talking about film. I'm sure you can run that into the ground very quickly. I don't have a clue what Kevin is writing. He might be completely going around me, I don’t know."
