John Woo's next project according to Slash Film is an epic war movie about aerial battle of Flying Tigers.
Flying Tigers was the popular name of the 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG) of the Chinese Air Force in 1941-1942. Arguably, the group was a private military contractor, and the volunteers have also been called mercenaries. The group intention was defending China against Japanese forces.
The film claimed to be the most expensive Chinese production to date. Half of the 100 million pounds funds will allegedly be coming from the US and it is going to have mix Hollywood and Chinese stars.
Woo promised to create the most spectacular aerial battle scenes ever seen in Chinese cinema.
