Hannah Montana Best At Easter Box Office
As expected, Hannah Montana: The Movie cruised past the competition at the box office over the long weekend, opening to an impressive $34 million. That was more than enough to get by holdover Fast & Furious, which came in a strong second with $28.7 million. Otherwise, the Seth Rogen starrer Observe and Report ended up slightly lower than expected with only $11.1 million. That was still good enough for 4th, ahead of Nic Cage's Knowing (now in its fourth week), but way behind the third-place Monsters vs. Aliens. Credit the extra day off school for the success of the kid-friendly top three and keep an eye out to see how Observe does next weekend with an even playing field and (hopefully) some decent word of mouth.
